I began creating collage art, while I was working as a student in Tel Aviv University’s main library. My job was to strip the books of their beautiful original covers in order to be able to write the catalog number on them.
I obsessively collected the unique covers, which would have gone directly to the trash otherwise. Until one day, I found myself cutting and gluing the parts I found most interesting about them, combining them together to bring forth a new and original creation. With time, I added materials from a variety of sources: journals, pamphlets and any other printed material that caught my eye.
My collage art pieces are condensed, compact and relatively small ; it is this intensity that is similar, in essence, to poetry.
